Critical issue / Lenovo System X servers inoperable after November Cumulative update for Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, and 2016
After applying the November 2016 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 or November 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 or Security Update MS16-040, a Lenovo System X M5 or X6 server can be rendered inoperable.

Systems with Security Update MS16-140 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3193479)
Systems running Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2 are affected ONLY if they are configured for Secure Boot.
Systems running Windows Server 2016 are affected regardless of being configured for Secure Boot or not.
How to determine if Secure Boot is enabled
- Log in to the server.
- Open a PowerShell command prompt / console.
- In the PowerShell console, type Confirm-SecureBootUEFI, press Enter.
